Friday night in Coralville for the last night revelry. 38 Special performed earlier, now some country type band. There is some talk of a bar but I think I will take the next truck back to the house and get some sleep. Some of our team are planning on riding straight back to CR instead of going on to Quad Cities. So it goes, one more day.

Some of us went off-route this morning and took the trail between Bondurant and Baxter. Cloudy, not as hot, and a brief shower. Into camp very early: 2:00. Rick B caught a Cliff energy bar flipping into his deraileur, breaking it, the chain, and many spokes. But he's OK. Camping at a Nazarene church, swimming pool down the street.

Sorry about the delays. Phone coverage has been basically nonexistent up to now. We are near Des Moines (Altoona) so have service. The ride has been hot and hilly - today flatter and cooler until later this pm when it was in 90's.

What's with the bars and wineries that advertise then close up their air conditioned establishments to sell only out in their hot parking lot? They have lost any reoccurring business!
